A Identidade Nua

O que é a Identidade Nua? Não é mais do que um fenómeno psicológico moderno que muitos de nós sentimos hoje em dia.

Exemplos disso incluem quando nos esquecemos de levar o telemóvel ou quando percebemos que o passaporte precisa de ser renovado seis meses antes de caducar, porque temos voos para reservar até ao final do ano. Enquanto espero vinte dias para que o novo passaporte chegue, não posso sair do país – parece que a minha liberdade está congelada!

Lembra-se de algumas circunstâncias, no passado, que o/a tivessem levado a esta vulnerabilidade existencial?

Lembro-me de, há muitas luas atrás, andar com um livro físico para todo o lado por onde ia. Simplesmente não conseguia sair de casa sem algo para ler.

Hoje em dia, o meu telemóvel é o meu pequeno mundo.

The Naked Identity

What is Naked Identity? It is nothing more than a modern psychological phenomenon that a lot of us feel nowadays.

Examples include when we forget to take our mobile with us, or when we realize our passport needs to be renewed six months before it expires because we have some flights to book until the end of the year.  While waiting twenty days for the new passport to arrive, I can’t leave the country – it seems my freedom is frozen!

Can you think of any past situations that could have lead you to this existential vulnerability?

I remember, many moons ago, carrying a physical book everywhere I went.  I just couldn’t leave the house without something to read.

Nowadays, my mobile is my little world.

 

 

This is a fast-paced thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. As I wasn’t familiar with the author’s writing style, I never could have predicted the plot’s twists and turns.

I read/listened to the audiobook version.

There is an ongoing controversy debating whether or not “listening to a book” is the same as “reading a book”.

The general consensus is that, for practical purposes, the verb “to read” is acceptable in both cases.

 

Este é um thriller em ritmo acelerado de que gostei.  Como não estava familiarizada com a sua escrita ou linha de pensamento, nunca conseguiria prever as reviravoltas da história.

Li/ouvi a versão em audio.

Há uma controvérsia em curso sobre se "ouvir um livro" é o mesmo que "ler um livro" ou se o verbo “ler” pode ser usado na versão audiolivro.

O consenso geral é que, para efeitos práticos, o verbo "ler" é aceitável em ambos os casos.

 O meu lugar preferido e a minha refeição perfeita durante a Happy Hour.

Acredito firmemente que a combinação perfeita para a Happy Hour existe realmente. Esta é a minha nova obsessão: tacos de peixe crocantes acompanhados de batatas fritas com trufa, que são fritas regadas com azeite de trufa e cobertas com queijo parmesão. Divinal!!

A atmosfera do restaurante é inegavelmente chique e informal, vibrante e agradável.

Os bancos do restaurante, estofados em pele, oferecem o máximo conforto.

Falo do Joey Restaurants, claro!

My happy place and happy meal during Happy Hour time.

I am a firm believer that the ultimate happy hour combination really exists. This is my renewed Happy Hour obsession: crispy fish tacos paired with truffle French fries, which are fries tossed in truffle oil and topped with parmesan cheese. Divine!!

The atmosphere of the place feels undeniably chic yet casual, vibrant yet pleasant.

The deep leather booths offer the ultimate comfort.

I am referring to Joey Restaurants, what else!
