The Diviners is a play based on the novel by Margaret Laurence (1926-1987). This novel was Laurence’s final novel, and is considered one of the classics of Canadian Literature.

Thomas Patterson (1920-2005) was a Stratford (Ontario) born
journalist who went on to found the Stratford Festival of Canada, then called
Stratford Shakespearean Festival, the largest theatre festival in Canada. T.
Patterson wanted to provide “Canadian acting talent the opportunity to work
with top directors and actors without having to leave the country”.
This festival theatre was named after him in 1991.

Foi a primeira vez que fui a esta sala de teatro. E gostei bastante. É uma das mais pequenas como se vê melhor na foto que copiei da net. Foi um ambiente muito intimista.

ResponderEliminarIt is gorgeous. I have seen it many times when I walk along the river but had never been inside this theatre. I got a tour when the play was over.

Que beleza!
O jardim do cabeçalho fica na parte lateral do teatro virada para o rio. Na primavera e verão é muito mais colorido. Um local muito acolhedor. Aliás, tudo nesta cidade é acolhedor.
EliminarEste ano entrei na fase do teatro em vez do cinema e dos concertos ao ar livre como era habitual. E, se for possível de novo, já tenho a lista das peças que gostaria de ver para o ano. : )
