Demasiado poder para  uma  só  pessoa !

Como irá ele gerir o Twitter?

“A liberdade de expressão é a base de uma democracia em funcionamento, e o Twitter é a praça da cidade digital onde são debatidos assuntos vitais para o futuro da humanidade”, disse Musk em comunicado.

E eu pergunto: o que é “liberdade de expressão” para Elon Musk?

Elon Musk, born to a Canadian mother and South African Father and an American citizen, is the wealthiest man in the world. He is the co-founder of SpaceX and of Tesla. He just bought Twitter for US$44 billions. Cash!

Too much power for one person!

How will he manage Twitter?

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said in a statement.

And my question is: what does he mean by "free speech"?

A Destilaria Olde Mecklenburg tem uma missão, “enriquecer a qualidade de vida da comunidade”. Tem um pub e uma cervejaria ao ar livre num espaço com mais de 32 mil metros quadrados. As crianças são bem-vindas desde que permaneçam perto dos pais.

The Olde Mecklenburg has a mission, “to enrich the quality of life of the community”. It is a spacious brewery with a pub and an 8-acre beer garden. Children are welcome as long as they remain close to their parents.

A cidade de Charlotte (Carolina do Norte) foi apelidada de “Cidade Rainha” em homenagem à princesa Carlota de Mecklenburg-Strelitz, nascida na Alemanha, que viria a ser rainha-consorte como esposa do rei Jorge III do Reino Unido.  O casal teve 15 filhos!

 Charlotte (North Carolina) was nicknamed “Queen City” in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, (born in Germany), who became queen consort of British King George III during the time of the city’s founding. The couple had 15 children!

Onde moro os pássaros cantam de manhã cedo e não acontece todos os dias. Aqui cantam o dia inteiro para meu deleite. Vi tordos, cardeais, gaios azuis, carriças, pardais, tordos e um beija-flor a voar pertinho de mim. Há de certo outras aves que não soube identificar. Até vi uma lagartixa perto dos meus sapatos. Não gostei!!

Where I live birds sing early in the morning and not every day. Here they sing all day long to my delight. I saw robins, cardinals, blue jays, wrens, song sparrows, mockingbirds and one hummingbird flying a meter or so from me. I’m sure there were other birds I didn’t recognize.  I even saw a lizard crawling near my shoes. I was not impressed!!

 

 

Durante a minha estadia nos Estados Unidos, mais precisamente em Charlotte, confirmei – mais uma vez -  como os americanos são simpáticos, acolhedores e cordiais.

During my stay in the United States, more precisely in Charlotte, I confirmed – once again – how friendly, welcoming and cordial Americans are.
