Eu e os patos-reais - The mallards and I

 

Não tenho um animal de estimação. Sei que a interação entre humanos e animais traz muitos benefícios para a nossa saúde mental. Eu faço meditação.

Contudo, devo muito as estas criaturas. Gosto de olhar para elas, de analizar o seu comportamento e de as fotografar. Elas não se incomodam com a minha proximidade. Com efeito, estes patos-reais decidiram aproximar-se de mim e não os estava a alimentar.

I don’t have a pet. I know that human-animal interactions are good for our mental health. I meditate instead.

However, I owe these creatures a lot. I like to look at them, to analyze their behaviour and to photograph them. They don’t mind my proximity.  As a matter of fact, these mallards drifted towards me and I wasn’t feeding them.

Mas, subitamente, dão meia volta e mergulham na pequena lagoa.

Eu nem me tinha mexido!

Then, all of a sudden… they just turned around and jumped into the pond.

I hadn’t moved!

Queria um aroma que me fizesse lembrar a época natalícia… então fiz estas bolachas… e toda a casa tem agora um cheirinho a Natal!
